Birthday cards are often kept over the years, I remember clearing out the loft a while back, and came across an old biscuit tin with birthday cards from my 16th, 18th and 21st birthday parties, it really brought a smile to my face looking at all of the teenager's handwriting from people I have not seen in over two decades....
... There was the letter 'i' with circles and hearts instead of dots, most of the girls put at least 3 kisses after their names (to get a kiss from a boy is unusual), large flowery handwriting filled every corner of these birthday cards, and I loved revisiting my memories that day.
Birthday cards have certainly evolved over the past twenty years, you can now buy a birthday card from your laptop, and have it printed and posted without you leaving the sofa. With the continual advance of technology, internet, social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, emails are more popular than a handwritten letter to keep in touch, and e-cards have seen a rise in popularity as well.

Camping can test your resources and presents an opportunity to try new things and have new experiences. Many people who go camping rely on premade foods, hot dogs or freeze dried food for meals. As a result, camping is synonymous with bad food. However, there is a way to eat great, even gourmet, food while camping and it's through a Dutch oven.
Dutch ovens are simply a type of cast iron pot that is used while camping to cook. You can use them over an open frame hanging from a tripod, but the most common way to cook with them is to bury the oven in hot coals. This makes the food cook evenly. You can also use them on specially made tables that make them more like cooking on a grill.

A luau is a Hawaiian feast. You may have been to a luau party here on the mainland, or visited a luau on your recent vacation to Hawaii. This meal and party often features traditional Hawaiian food, including poi and salmon, and is often known for the kalua pig, which has been roasted in earth for at least a day prior to the festivities. Luaus are also known for the entertainment, including Hawaiian music and hula dancing.
Today, luaus are often synonymous with parties for those from Hawaii, so you may see graduation luaus, birthday luaus, or even wedding luaus. However, the concept of a luau is actually quite old, and originally it meant a very specific type of celebration.
The name 'Luau' dates back to the mid-nineteenth century. Before that, this type of party was called a paina or ahaaina. The name 'luau' originated from a type of food traditionally served at a luau celebration: young taro (a type of tuber plant) tops, baked with coconut milk and served with octopus or chicken.

Stephen Covey's excellent "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" has given millions of people throughout the world a way of living and working more effectively. Single mums who want to become more effective in their daily life can benefit from coaching for women to help them develop their own "seven habits"!
Some of these habits overlap or could be reinterpreted in a different fashion, but these principles should be adopted as soon as possible if you are new to being a single mum, or beginning to feel harried beyond belief.
Habit one - Master the clock.
We all have the same amount of time in a given day, but how we use it dictates how we will feel after the sun goes down. Will we feel that we have been productive and are thereby refreshed, or will we feel that we have been bouncing from pillar to post and still seem to have little achieved?
Those who fall into the first category are generally masters of time and have itemised what they need to do in any given day to get through. It is important to take baby steps and not to look too far ahead when you have a busy schedule, as this will appear so daunting that it may compromise your ability to succeed.
