Hand art has in the last few years developed into a niche of its own, somewhere between face painting and body painting. The artist Guido Daniele has created such beautiful art works on the human hand, (which are not only super real), but take the art form to new heights. Guido Daniele is an Italian-born artist who has gained international recognition over the past decade for a type of body painting coined as “hand imals.” However, he is a man of many trades and has contributed to the art world since the late-sixties. In 1972, he graduated from the Brera School of Arts with a degree in sculpturing, and then moved to India to attend the Tankas School in Dharamsala. It was at this time that Daniele began his career as a hyper-realistic illustrator for major advertising companies which allowed him to further experiment with various painting techniques. Be it airbrushing, trompe l’oeil, body painting or ‘handimals,’ his artwork has been used for artistic and advertising pictures, television commercials, fashion shows, private and public buildings and other personal and group art exhibitions his talent is undeniably, awe-inspiring.

Nick Georgiou's meticulously hand stitched newspaper sculptures continue to blow our mind. He seems to be taking them to another level, giving them movement and integrating them into the environment. For us, Nick and Mark Jenkins - along with Brad Downey, Leon Reid, and Prune, are the absolute best "urban sculptors" working on the streets today. Many people claim the printed word is becoming obsolete, pushed aside by technology and computers.
Sculptor Nick Georgiou molds this relic material into hand-carved and textured sculptures depicting faces and creatures. To him, it's not obsolete at all. In addition to being a sculptor, Nick's a wonderful filmmaker as well. He's been working on a documentary about Cyprus and recently crossed the Green Line and saw his father’s village for the first time. "It's paper that you might throw away or recycle, and now it's art," says Union Gallery curator Holly Brown.

President Rutherford B. Hayes officially opened up the White House grounds to local children for egg rolling on the Monday after Easter Sunday in 1878. It has become a tradition, and each year the White House hosts an Easter Egg Roll for children and their families. It's not always a smoothly run event, and bad experiences may result. However, there is no denying that it is a once in a lifetime event for most participants, and nearly everyone who attends feels fortunate to be there.
The event is held on the South Lawn of the White House, and the grounds are open for the day with each group entering for a two hour period. "Ready, Set, Go" was the theme for the 2010 White House Easter Egg Roll held on Monday, April 5. The annual event was geared to promote health and wellness among families. All the activities provided to each group featured storytelling, live music, sports courts, cooking stations, and Easter Egg rolling. The activities were meant to encourage children to live active, healthy lives.
