Kaimu Black Sand Beach

There are many other black beaches in Hawaii, but Kaimu, a shimmering obsidian sand beach is very picturesque and is probably the most impressive. It is also the darkest, and if you along the beach, you might want your feet before you go into the car to continue your trip to wash. Bring your camera, of course.

Crater Rim Drive

This is an 11-mile road that circles the edge of the Kilauea caldera (crater large pit) in Hawaii VolcanoesNational Park. Scenic vistas and hiking abound! When you visit this national park, and can do only one, choose this scenic drive and you can not go wrong. Depending on how often you stop, this tour can take between one and three hours to complete. This is definitely worth a drive if you have the time in your itinerary.

The Hamakua Coast
If Hiilawe. Located along the Hamakua Coast, this is the most famous waterfall in Waipio Valley. It is also the highest of all falls in theState, one of the highest in the world, and plunges over 1000 meters. This waterfall divides the same as the cliff Hakalaoa case which is currently dry. You can see this amazing site by helicopter, a very popular way of looking at the fall, or while walking or riding down (4-Wheel Drive) on the floor of the valley. I would call a do-not-miss-your family vacation spots in Hawaii!

The Kona Coast

The Kona Coast was also once home to Hawaiian royalty – King Kamehameha spent his last years here in Kailua-Kona and there are significant historic places including Hulihee Palace and Jaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park, which are of great interest to look around to discover Hawaii’s past.

Hawaii/bigIsland

With 268 miles of coastline the Big Island is, as it’s name implies, the biggest of the Hawaiian islands and offers some of Hawaii’s richest natural experiences including Hawaii’s largest lake, Akaka Falls at 135 meters, the most southerly tip of the USA, Ka Lae’s South Point, and the tallest mountain in the world from the sea bed, Mauna Kea. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO site, is home to the remarkable Kilauea Volcano, which has been erupting for 25 years and is one of the few places in the world where an active volcano can be experienced.

For a beach with a difference along the Kona coast there is Papakoa, the green beach at South Point, which is made from Olivine crystals. Hilo, the island’s capital city, offers a glance into Hawaii-past and visitors can make the most of the great entertainment and restaurants that are on offer here.
