The Asian elephant has been selected as the exhibit topic in a effort to sensitize people towards the dramatic situation of this awesome animal who is threatened with extinction: when the exhibition ends, the statues will be put up for auction and the income from their sale will be donated to the Asia Elephant Foundation, which protects and looks after these pachyderms, as well as to Telethon.

The unique and cute elephants are created in fiberglass .
Milan is now hosting a new, funny and colorful animal invasion!

This year’s edition is called Elephant Parade and it’s an open air exhibition showcasing 80 statues of Asian elephant calves. Each one of the statues has been painted and decorated by a world famous artist and they have literally taken over the city!

The event was organized by Lynx to promote their new shower gel and beat the previous record set in Illinois two years ago when 145 people showered together. The marketing geniuses at Lynx were smart enough to implant a lot of sexy models into the publicity stunt so that the photos and video were very pleasing to the eye. I would not have written this story had 152 hairy, fat guys in Speedos just show up.

Anna Orford, of Guinness World Records, said: “Lynx have constructed a fantastic showering tool, and the people of Bournemouth have to be applauded for getting into the spirit of the day and taking a shower together.

“Their reward is a new Guinness World Record for the most people showering simultaneously at the same venue. Congratulations to everyone involved!”

One of the most amazing cars in the world, the Pagani Huayra, is planned to debut on US show floors in 2013. This comes after the US Department of Transportation announced the car would not be allowed in America because of the lacking airbag system. Pagani plans to change this problem with the Huayra, so they will be able to manufacture 15 units at a price of $1,375,000, and an extra $374,000 for the airbag upgrade to make it street legal. With that cost you’d expect it to have some gold plated airbag covers inside, but instead you’ll find an AMG-sourced 6.0-liter twin turbo V12 engine under the hood producing more than 700 horsepower and 1,000 newton meters of torque.

A pig which can walk on two legs has become a local celebrity in China. The 10-month-old porker is known by villagers as “Zhu Jianqiang” (Strong-willed Pig) after it was born with only two front legs and learned to balance on them well enough to walk. According to its owner, Wang Xihai, it was one of nine piglets born in a litter.

A two-legged lamb born in July to a farmer in China’s Shandong province is standing up on its own two feet, but the fact that it only has two legs is impeding its chances to live to adulthood.

A UV or blacklight tattoo is a tattoo which uses special inks designed to show up only under a blacklight. The popularity of UV tattoos exploded in the late 1990s, especially among 18-30 year olds in the clubbing subculture. Not all tattoo artists offer blacklight tattooing; anyone interested in such a  tattoo may have to do some research to find a studio which will perform the work.

A UV tattoo becomes visible under blacklight, when it glows in colors ranging from white to purple, depending on the ink chosen. Colored ink is also  available, where the ink is visible in normal light (as with a regular tattoo) but the ink will glow vividly under UV light. However, some UV inks are not as bright under normal light as normal tattoo ink and are considered not as vibrant.This can be a result of not protecting the tattoo from UV rays  within 3 months of receiving the tattoo process or by using scented cremes or lotions on the tattoo area. This can damage the ink, causing it to become a normal ink color in all light. In time, it may also not glow in black lighting. Clear/blue UV inks are known to yellow or turn slightly brown with sun exposure.

The artist can provide advice on designs which will work well in the medium of UV ink, and he or she can provide suggestions about placement of the UV tattoo as well.

UV inks are not as bright under normal light as normal tattoo inks, and do not blend during application, as normal inks do. Their effect will be dulled if regular ink is used on top of them. Therefore, for vibrant, high impact tattoos, normal ink should be used, allowed to heal, and then highlighted with UV inks. Only highly experienced tattooists should apply UV tattoos, and should have a blacklight within arm’s length of the tattoo chair. When applying white or clear UV ink, this blacklight should be turned on throughout the procedure.UV inking takes a little bit longer than normal, due to UV inks being a little thinner and harder to work with, and because the tattoo must be wiped and  checked under a blacklight frequently during application.

There are some problems with UV tattoos. Many tattoo artists are concerned about the safety of the inks, as not all blacklight sensitive inks are safe to use for tattooing, and these artists are concerned about allergic reactions or potentially carcinogenic inks. As a result, some have pushed for tighter regulation of tattoo inks to ensure the safety of clients and artists alike. In addition, some blacklight tattoos may fade to unsightly brown or gray colors which become visible in regular light and look unpleasant, defeating the goal of having a tattoo which is invisible in normal lighting conditions.

Maria Jose Cristerna has tattooed almost 100% of her body including her private parts and she also has titanium ‘horns’ implanted into her skull and dental implants that give her ‘fangs’.

Maria Jose Cristerna said ” The horns I have are symbol of strength and were implanted without anaesthetic .I had fangs done because I loved vampires as a little girl and I changed the color of my eyes so they were how I really wanted them to be. ” she further adds” Tattooing is my way of being immortal, of really being a vampire and not dying – leaving my work on other people’s skin”

Lucky Diamond rich is the world’s most tattooed person. Born in 1971 in New Zealand he has tattoos covering his entire body even his foreskin, ears and mouths. He also holds the Guinness world record as being 100% tattooed. He spent more than 1000 hours getting his whole body tattooed but that didn’t satisfied him and then he opted for black ink covering his entire body.

He is not only famous for being the world’s most tattooed person but also his act includes sword swallowing, juggling and unicycling.
As a young boy he had thoughts about the most tattooed men and women but he didn’t thought about becoming one of them until he got his first tattoo small juggling club on his hip.

Oh I almost forgot…Did I mention that he replaced all of his natural teeth with silver ones???

Dennis Avner who is also known by “stalking cat” or “cat man” turned himself from human to living tiger and he also holds the world record for the most body modification.

Avner the former navy sonar technicians who now currently working as a computer programmer became the “cat man” after discussing with a native chief who inspired him to “follow the ways of tiger”. He has his whole body covered with tattoos including his face, he modified his hairline, modified his teeth ,wears a green contact lenses, ears are surgically pointed like that of cat.

The coconut crab, Birgus latro, is the largest land-living arthropod in the world, and is probably at the upper limit of how big terrestrial animals with exoskeletons can become. The species inhabits the coastal forest regions of many Indo-Pacific islands, although localized extinction has occurred where the crab is sympatric with man. Generally nocturnal, they remain hidden during the day and emerge only on some nights to forage. Their body is divided into four regions; the cephalic lobe, forepart, trunk, and opisthosoma.

It is a highly apomorphic hermit crab and is known for its ability to crack coconuts with its strong pincers to eat the contents. It is the only species of the genus Birgus.
